Who makes the game
Axperia Studio
Axperia Studio is an independent video game studio. Poly Strike is its first game: it is not out yet, and no date has been announced.
The stance
Poly Strike starts from a refusal: statistics that decide in the player’s place. In most sports games, whether a shot works is settled by attributes and a hidden roll. Here the ball’s trajectory is computed from the real position of the limb at the moment of impact, and nothing else.
That choice has an accepted cost: the game is harder to pick up. It is also what makes a successful gesture belong to the person who made it.
How the game is built
Development runs on standard industry tools, with substantial work on contact physics — which carries everything else — and on the readability of the robots, whose mechanical design keeps the rotation axes visible during a gesture.
This site is an example in itself: the 3D scene on the home page runs in the browser, driven by scrolling, with the real field-player model and the real stadium.
Why robots
The choice is not aesthetic, it is mechanical. Three of the game’s rules would not be credible with human players.
- Zero falls
- A human taking a tackle to the legs goes down. A robot whose joints vibrate for a moment stays upright, which is what makes it possible to remove fouls without the game becoming absurd.
- One command per limb
- Controlling each leg of a human body separately would feel arbitrary. On a machine, it is exactly what you expect.
- Infinite volley
- Running while holding one leg at full extension requires physics that only a mechanical chassis makes acceptable.
The design follows the same logic: the rotation axes stay visible during a gesture, so you can read what the leg is doing at the moment of impact.
Following the project
The studio Discord is the most direct place to follow progress, ask questions and take part in tests. The Steam wishlist will be the most reliable way to hear about the launch.
For press and databases, the press kit gathers the official descriptions to reproduce as they stand, the game’s fact sheet and visuals free to use for any editorial coverage.
Test feedback genuinely changes the game: the contact physics settings, which carry everything else, are calibrated on what players manage or fail to do.
Namesakes
Two other games carry a similar name, and both are shooters: POLYSTRIKE, a 5v5 tactical top-down shooter, and Poly Strike: Gun Shooting Game, a mobile FPS. Neither has any connection with Axperia Studio or with this game — the question comes up often enough to sit in the FAQ.
